Important Reminders:
No School: Monday, September 30 (Teacher Work Day)
Parent/Teacher Conferences: October 1–2
Book Fair: September 30 – October 3

Home and school partnerships are an important way to support student learning. One way we can come together as partners is through Parent/Teacher Conferences.
Our fall Parent/Teacher Conferences will take place October 1-2, 2025. Times slots are generally available on both days between 4:00-8:00pm, though specific teacher availability may vary depending on a teacher’s class size and other class-specific considerations. Please note that if you have more than one child, it is helpful to leave a space between each appointment to accommodate any back-ups that may occur.
To schedule conference times, we will use the conference scheduler feature of Skyward, the district’s student data system. Using your Skyward Family Access login, you can reserve conference appointments right from a computer or mobile device.
The Alpine School District has prepared tutorials on how to schedule conferences in Skyward Family Access, which you can access via the links below:
If you do not have access to a computer or another Internet-ready device, you may use one at Rocky Mountain or you may contact your child’s teacher directly to schedule your conference time(s). If you do not have a functioning Skyward account, please click here or contact the school secretaries at 801-610-8117.
Lastly, we are happy to host a Scholastic Book Fair at Rocky Mountain Elementary during the week of Parent/Teacher Conferences. The fair will be open during both conference evenings, as well as at other times in the week. Specifically, it will be open 8:00am-7:30pm Tuesday-Thursday and Friday 8:00am-12:00pm. Students will also be able to attend the Book Fair during recess periods and their regularly scheduled library times.
We look forward to conferencing with you this coming week!
Sincerely,
Zach Eagar
Principal

An accident on northbound I-15 in the Lindon area has caused significant delays on the freeway and artery roads.
This road closure will impact busing throughout the district. We anticipate bus delays at multiple schools, including activity buses.
All routes will be completed, but it is unknown how long this will take.

The wait is over! Tonight is the Rocky Mountain Carnival and Silent Auction, 4:30–7:30. The carnival events are completely free! Bring your family and friends to enjoy games, activities, food, and fun.

Wishing you a wonderful weekend!

Dear Rocky Mountain Families,
Yesterday’s shooting at Utah Valley University has deeply affected many in our community and across the nation. Anytime a person’s right to life is forcibly taken at the hands of another, it is a tragedy that weighs on us all.
We know that children process events like these in very different ways. As you feel it is age and developmentally appropriate, you may find it helpful to check in with your child about how they are feeling and whether they have questions. You, as parents and caregivers, are the primary source of support for your child’s emotional well-being. With that in mind, we have compiled reference resources for families that may be helpful as you work to appropriately process and discuss this situation with your children at home. These resources include guides on talking to children about tragic events and violence, as well as a list of local support resources available to families in the Utah Valley area. These references are available by clicking here.
If you sense that your child might benefit from some additional support while at school, please remember that we have an on-site school counselor and social worker who are present most days of the week and are available to meet with any student who would like to talk through their feelings related to this tragic circumstance.
Now, for the balance of this message, I would like to share some information about our upcoming school carnival. I want to be clear that my intent is not to minimize the tragic events of yesterday or to trivialize the impact they may have on our students and families. The carnival has been planned for some time, and we want to ensure families have detailed information so everyone can be fully prepared for the evening.
In light of yesterday’s events, perhaps there is even more reason to come together as a community. Gathering with those we care about can provide comfort and support, and spending time together, strengthening relationships, and feeling the closeness of our school community may be especially meaningful for our students and families at this time.
Here are a few important details related to the school carnival and opportunities to get involved:
Volunteers Needed: We are looking for help with set up, clean up, or monitoring games (run by our 6th graders). Responsible teens are welcome to volunteer too!
👉 Sign up to volunteer
6th Grade Participation: Parents of 6th graders, we invite you to help your student sign up to run one of the carnival games. Students who participate are eligible to be dunked in the dunk tank, and PTA will provide a grant to cover the 6th grade field trip as a thank-you.

Silent Auction Items: Come ready to bid on incredible donations, including Hale Centre Theatre tickets to Frozen, VIP pool passes, a custom wedding cake, Cornbelly’s tickets, Thanksgiving Point passes, gift cards, handmade crafts, a Yeti cooler, themed gift baskets, and more!
Donations: If you haven’t yet donated but would like to contribute, you can do so here:

Food Preorders: Preorder a pizza, cookie, and drink meal here:

Thank you for your continued support of our students, our PTA, and our community. In times like these, being together as families and neighbors is perhaps the greatest source of strength we can offer one another.
Respectfully,
Zach Eagar
Principal

Dear Parents and School Employees of Rocky Mountain Elementary,
Each new school year brings the opportunity to establish a School Community Council (SCC) that works to strengthen the educational experiences of our students and help Rocky Mountain continue to grow and succeed. The council is made up of parents, school employees, and the principal, and it is one of the best ways for parents and staff to be directly involved in supporting student learning.
The purpose of the SCC is to understand the current needs of our school, identify our greatest academic priorities, and develop plans for improvement. A key responsibility is creating an annual School Improvement Plan, which includes determining how our school’s annual dividend from the state School LAND Trust fund will be used to support student achievement. The council also reviews other important plans, such as our safe school access routing plan and digital citizenship plan.
The Rocky Mountain SCC consists of eight members—five parent representatives and three employee representatives. Membership terms are for two years and elections for vacancies are held at the beginning of each school year. Parent members must have a student attending the school for at least one of the two years of the term of service.
This year, we have the following open positions:
Three (3) parent representative positions
Two (2) employee representative positions
If you are interested in running for one of these open positions, please complete the online candidate nomination form by September 1, 2025:
https://bit.ly/scc_candidate_form
Elections will take place September 3–5, 2025 and will close at 12:00 pm on the last day (September 5). Elections will be held online. An electronic ballot will be sent to patrons and employees of Rocky Mountain Elementary on the first day of the election window. Please note that the ballot will only allow one voting opportunity per user. In order to receive the election ballot, you must have a valid email address in Skyward and indicate you wish to receive emailed communications from Alpine School District. If you need assistance adding or updating your email address or contact settings in Skyward, please contact one of our school secretaries at (801) 610-8117.
Serving on the council is fully compatible with participation in other school organizations, such as the PTA. If you have any questions, please contact Principal Eagar at (801) 610-8117.
School improvement is a shared responsibility, and our School Community Council is a powerful way we can join together to make Rocky Mountain the best it can be for our students. Please consider submitting your name as a candidate for the Rocky Mountain SCC.
Sincerely,
Zach Eagar
Principal

This is a friendly reminder that tomorrow is Picture Day at Rocky Mountain Elementary. Students, be sure to have those smiles ready!
We’re excited to capture this year of learning and memories for your child.

Today at our assembly, our teachers joined in on a fun game of On a Scale of 1 to T-Rex, showing performances from 1 to 10! The goal? To get our students thinking about what makes a “10” performance stand out. From energy and effort to focus and creativity, it was a fun way to explore excellence.
We then invited our students to reflect on how they can be level 10 students this year—in their kindness, work ethic, compassion, understanding, and effort.
The excitement didn’t stop there! Thanks to the amazing talents of Mr. Abbott, we introduced a refreshed version of our school song. Check out the highlights in the video and see the fun, laughter, and school spirit in action!
